What is soft washing?

Which surfaces need soft washing instead of pressure?
Cedar shake, stucco, painted clapboard, older trim and anything brittle. If pressure would mark it, it gets soft washed.
Will it damage my paint?
No. Pressure is what lifts and chalks paint. A low pressure wash with the correct mix removes the growth that was shortening the life of the finish.
Does it kill the algae or just move it?
It kills it at the root. Blasting only moves it, which is why it comes back faster afterwards.
Is it safe for plants?
Beds get soaked down before we mix anything and rinsed again when we finish.
How long does it last?
Two to three years on most houses, less on a heavily shaded wall that never dries out.
